Fit Pregnancy Must Haves

Exercise is a blessing, not a chore. I workout because I’m grateful that I physically can.

I have always been a fan of exercising especially during pregnancy. I find it as a great outlet to relieve stress, to get more energy and to feel better about myself for eating all the food that I love to eat! Now that is what I call, balance! I love running , hiking and any high intensity workout, especially if I get to be outside while doing it! I FEEL so good after every workout. I am not the fastest runner or hiker, but I do what feels good for me!

Exercising while pregnant has really helped me feel less tired during both pregnancies! With Danica I worked out until the day before I gave birth to her. I actually did squats, stairs, and lunges while in labor with her in order to speed up labor (it worked!!!) Even if it’s as simple as walking around the neighborhood, any sort of cardiovascular activity will definitely pay off!

I wanted to share a few must haves that I love using for my workouts! Having the right gear really puts you in the mindset to having a successful fitness path during your pregnancy!

I’ve tried quite a few and this has the most support for my body during pregnancy. The great thing about this is that you can use it underneath your maternity clothing as well ! No need to buy separate ones.

Activewear

  • Maternity leggings or maternity shorts are a must! There is nothing worse then having your normal gear making you feel uncomfortable while working out because they are not supporting your growing body!
  • I love working out in these leggings from Ingrid & Isabel. They are super comfortable! I also wear them all the time just as part of my normal mom outfit because we all know leggings are life.

Running Shoes

  • The majority of my running shoes have always been Nike. I’ve been wearing them for as long as I can remember. They are super comfortable, lightweight and inexpensive.
  • One thing to note is that not all Nike shoes are for running. It comes to many people as a surprise. They assume each pairĀ  could be used for running. Make sure you do your research and select a running pair! You won’t be disappointed.

Nursing Bras

  • You need a really good and supportive bra. There are plenty out there, but when I was sent this Nursing Sports Bra I couldn’t look back at how functional it was. I tested it several times and I am such a big fan.
  • It’s super comfortable, supportive and inexpensive.
  • The winning key for me on this bra is that it’s super easy to nurse in it! I take Danica with me on my runs, so when she was nursing it made it so easy to do so! #MOMWIN

Wireless Headphones- Beats by Dre

  • I love MUSIC! Music pumps me up so much for my workouts. Wireless headphones are seriously the best workout gear you can get! You don’t need the wires getting in the way of working out! I absolutely love my Beats!

If I could give any sort of encouragement to working out especially during pregnancy, is that you can start small and move your way up. Just because you didn’t workout before pregnancy does not mean you are unable to do so now. TRUST me, it really has helped strengthen my body. It has given me so much more energy. People always ask me what my secret is about looking so happy & not feeling the discomforts of pregnancy as much as they are feeling. I do have some discomforts here and there; however, I truly believe that staying active during my pregnancy has made me feel less of those common discomforts.

  1. I am sure you are feeling great after working out while pregnant! I never did and I regret it because I had so many aches and pains! There is always next time right?
