With social distancing arts and crafts have become one of the main sources of entertainment and learning in my household. Luckily both my kids love crafting and it’s a great way to bond and it allows their creative juices to flow. I went all out for Halloween and I’m excited to do the same for Thanksgiving. Follow along as I provide some simple and festive turkey crafts for toddlers that your kiddos will love.

You can’t use up your creativity. The more you use, the more you have.

Pumpkin Turkey

If you are like me you most likely have tons of pumpkins leftover from Halloween which works perfectly because we can use them for this Thanksgiving craft. If you do not have any pumpkins the craft stores and grocery stores are selling them at a very inexpensive rate. I love watching the kid’s faces when they see this turkey craft come to “life”.

So pumpkin cute!

The Items Will You Need Are:

  • Small-medium pumpkins
  • Googly craft eyes
  • Tacky Glue
  • Wooden Skewer
  • Brown, orange, and red felt paper
  • Feathers

Follow These Simple Instructions:

  1. Make sure you wipe off any dirt off the pumpkins.
  2. Use the wooden skewer or a sharp object to poke holes on one half of the top of the pumpkin.
  3. Insert your feathers into the holes you just poked into the pumpkin. We love rainbow colors, so we purchased rainbow feathers from the craft store. You can do whatever colors you like for this turkey craft. If you do not have feathers, colored construction paper could work as well.
  4. Apply craft googly eyes with the Tacky Glue onto the pumpkin.
  5. Cut out a turkey nose and neck to finish your turkey craft.
  6. Take some photos of your kid’s holding up their pumpkins.
  7. Make sure to display their artwork somewhere visible to them. I have found that when we display their artwork proudly they enjoy crafting more.
The kids loved this craft.
