“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.”
Maya Angelou
I have been doing DIY for a long time and I love keeping up with trends on how to make things easier, especially now as a busy working outside of the home mother. Creating beautiful things myself makes me that much more proud of beautiful creations around my home that I can display proudly. The Cricut Joy has been instrumental in creating beautiful projects in a matter of minutes with the use of the mighty machine and their smart label materials. Who doesn’t like simple DIY projects? At first when I was introduced to the Cricut Joy I was a bit apprehensive because I had never used the Cricut Joy, but now that I have and know how easy it is to use and how much time it saves in making things I’m annoyed that I waited so long to use one. If this is also how you feel, I’m here to tell you that once you use the Cricut Joy once, you won’t want to look back because this little machine makes a great impact. Stay tuned while I show you how to create simple labels with Cricut Joy.
Cricut Design Space in action letting me know it’s cutting my labels, thank you!
Once you have your precious Cricut Joy, the next step I recommend is downloading Cricut Design Space onto your phone or computer. This Cricut Joy app is the companion app for the Cricut . I love that you can create your templates and designs from scratch here or use thousands of predesigned templates to start creating. I recommend browsing different labels to see if the label designs you had in mind have already been created. This will save you some time because if they have you can simply select the design and customize. DIYer win, am I right?
One of my favorite label material is the: Smart Label Writable Vinyl White labels are the look that I go for often. The great things are when using this material is that you can write, cut, peel and stick. It doesn’t get any easier friends!
My favorite product for simple labels!
The labels that I typically use call for the Cricut Extra Fine Point Pens . I love using this pen for labels. You can easily insert this pen into the Cricut Joy or you can write directly onto the labels once they are cut from the machine. The one thing that I recommend is when you choose the labels that you want to create , Design Cricut Space will let you know what materials you need, so that you are prepared right off the bat.
I recommend purchasing a few of these for your crafting.
Don’t underestimate this little machine, it’s quite mighty and can create some beautiful labels for you!
I love using the Smart Label Writable Paper when creating labels for my kitchen. This paper gives me the farm chic feel and it goes perfect with my kitchen pantry organization. Another great product that is super simple to use. I use this paper and the Vinyl quite often when creating labels. Highly recommend using both of those for everyday labels if they fit your style.
The perfect farm chic material for simple kitchen labels & more!
I love using this Smart Paper Stick Cardstock material when organizing my craft closet, garage and playroom. Something about this chalkboard vibe that really goes with those three spaces in our home. I love that it’s adhesive and it truly looks like a chalkboard background. With this material I do use it as a background label and attach the white vinyl on top of this material to give it the look that I’m going with for our home style.
The sticker cardstock is extremely helpful for labels!
If the above was not easy enough to convince you that you too can create simple labels with the Cricut Joy, below is a quick look into how to use Design Space to do so. It’s that easy to create simple labels. It takes me less than 5 minutes to create, load my material, remove and peel the labels. Cricut Design Space is my DIY BFF and hopefully you will be convinced that you need this machine for your DIYs.
Happy Cutting with Cricut Joy! Can’t wait to see what you create. xo, Dris
I can see how this can be useful for organising things around the house and placing labels everywhere. It might also be useful to help you learn the vocabulary of a new language as I’ll be able to label everything in French or Spanish.
Yes, exactly! Thank you! Love the idea of the languages.
This sounds like a really useful machine. We always need labels for things for home and the kids school books etc. This would come in really handy to make those.
Exactly! We love ours!
Thanks for this post! I had an internship a long time ago where I was assigned to manage the label maker and I held that role like my pride and joy. I would love this tool, haha.
Oh I bet! LIFE SAVER!
What a cool way to make labels , definitely want to try this some time.It could be so useful for so many things .
Yes, we love it and use it for so many different things!
I wonder if this would work on cars. My husband loves buying vinyl stickers but he could probably make his own this way!
You can make Vinyl labels on the Cricut! Worth a try!
Oh my! I want this. Been looking for one for a while now.. this looks so cool and user friendly.. i’ll check it out!
This looks like a must-have for someone like me who’s terrible at organising things. I can see how this can be useful for organising things around the house and placing labels everywhere.
Oh! Your post just convinced me to get a Cricut. There are just a lot of possibilities. I would love to make these labels on my own. Thank you for sharing how.
Interesting read. I mean it’s clear to see how creating simple labels work with the circuit joy. First time coming across this. Nice.
