With my daughter’s Preschool Graduation coming up around the corner it was no surprise that my 5-year-old, Danica, wanted to create something beautiful for her classmates and her beloved teacher. Danica loves creating things from scratch for people she loves and the sweet face she makes once you open up her creations in front of her melts this mama’s heart. I was excited to show her our new crafting gadget, the Cricut Joy. The Cricut Joy is your DIY best friend. It was a perfect machine in helping us create our Graduation cards in a matter of minutes. The Cricut Joy is the smallest and smartest cutting machine on the market. Follow along as I show you how easily the Cricut Joy made our Graduation crafting dreams come true.
I love the Cricut Joy because it can help you make whatever your little crafty heart desires from personalized, meaningful gifts to creative décor. I love the variety of designs and materials that you have access to as well. In addition, the Cricut machines and Smart Material are extremely easy to use. I mean so easy my 5-year-old was able to get the gist of making them while I sat next to her. Crafting with her with the Cricut Joy was such a magical experience for us both. She was in awe of how quickly and easily she could make something so beautiful with this cutting machine. Let’s just say our special times now involve creating new crafts with the Cricut Joy.
Graduation Congratulation Cards
What you need:
The one thing that really stood out to me about the Cricut Joy is that although small, it could really cut some amazing designs in a matter of minutes. We printed 8 cards and packed them in their envelopes all within less than an hour and my 5-year-old assisting. She watched me select the design off the Cricut Design Space app on my phone once and was able to navigate in printing the remaining cards on her own while I closely watched her. The new “Smart” materials do not require a cutting mat which allowed for less steps and much quicker results.
Steps:
First step: download the Circuit Design Space app AKA the Cricut Joy app onto your phone or computer. Available on your Windows, Apple, and Android devices.
Cricut Joy is so easy to use you can download the app and control the machine from your phone!
Second Step: While on your home screen search for Graduation. There is a drop down on the left-hand side of the app that will allow you to filter your searches by: ‘card’. This will give you a more accurate list of what you can print in card format.
Third Step: Select the design you want by simply clicking on it. You will see that there is a step-by-step instruction summary on what to do next including switching the size of the card you are using. Hello Smart machine!
Fourth Step: Select the insert card you want and place it into the Card Mat. Most Card Mats should have a step-by-step instruction on how to insert your card which makes it so much easier for myself and my daughter to use. Make sure to keep the invisible peel you remove from the card mat to the side. You will want to add it back on when you are done with this project.
Fifth Step: Follow the easy steps until your card is complete.
Sixth Step: Unload mat from the Cricut Joy machine with The Spatula from the tool set. My daughter and I loved using that Spatula to carefully remove the card from the mat. We also used the Spatula to clean up the mat for the next card.
This took less than a minute to cut!
Seventh Step: Add insert card to the card and insert into each corner of the card.
Final Step: Insert your new beautiful Card into the envelope provided. Tada! You have now created a beautiful Congratulations Graduate in a matter of minutes. Congrats!
The Cricut Joy Bundle made this project such a breeze and really helped my daughter and I create a unique gift for her classmates and her teacher.
