Not all who wander are lost.
If you know our family you know we love exploring and traveling every chance we get. One of the last trips we took before baby brother arrived was a weekend getaway to Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa . This beautiful resort is located in the banks of Lake Arrowhead surrounded by the San Bernardino Mountains. This resort happens to be about 1.5 hours away from home. It’s the perfect weekend getaway destination for families, couples, retreats, etc. We especially love it in the winter when they get snowfall.
We picked a great weekend to go because there was enough snow for us to play. Danica was so excited to be able to see snow and play in it before her baby brother arrived! I love how close the resort is to our home. The drive is pretty quick and the views going up the mountains are stunning! It’s such a peaceful location with so much nature to see. We loved hanging out on the deck here overlooking the lake.
Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa is located near the heart of Lake Arrowhead Village. From the resort to the village is about a 5 minute walk to where you will find an assortment of quaint specialty stores and other convenience stores. We decided to explore around the resort over to the village. It’s such a beautiful walk to the village and so convenient.
Our room was a Lakeside room that had unparalleled views of the lake, the beach and outside pool area. You have a choice of one king bed with a sofa bed and sitting area or two queen beds, many of them include private patios or balconies. We decided to get the king bed and co-sleep! We don’t do it at home, so we typically do this when we travel! Danica loves the extra cuddles as do we! The room was so cozy and the view of the lake while we relaxed in our room was impeccable. We had a private balcony that we enjoyed while we relaxed outdoors.
How beautiful is this lobby? After a full day of playing in the snow we cuddled up on this couch and enjoyed the fireplace. It was so nice and relaxing. There is plenty of seating around the lobby to just lounge and relax. My suggestion is to grab a savory cocktail, micro-brew or wine by the glass from Bin 189 and enjoy it by the fireplace! If only I wasn’t pregnant, ha! We enjoyed a yummy cup of coffee from Aromas instead. We drank it while we relaxed and watched Danica explore around the lobby. Aromas is the lively coffee bar located across from the lobby! Their fresh-baked pastries are absolutely delicious!
The dining options at the resort are, Bin 189, offering Lake Arrowhead Resort’s signature dining experience with fresh contemporary American cuisine. Live entertainment is offered Friday and Saturday. Once again the drinks are a must try here! Definitely looking forward to that when we return.
Magnum Private Dining Room is another option. It seats up to 20 providing an intimate destination for group dining. It features it own menu and extensive wine list and the service is stellar! Perfect for large groups, parties, meetings.
Lake Arrowhead as I mentioned previously is a private lake in where the resort guests have exclusive access to boating and water skiing. The resort also operates its own private pontoon boat for lake tours, a must see experience! The fire pit is such a nice touch. Accessing this area is super easy and steps away from the deck that overlooks the lake. What I love about this resort is that there is so much to do. The resort offers activities including swimming in the pool, lake, fishing off the dock, chartered boat tours, board games and movie nights. Ping pong, horseshoes, and glow in the dark cornhole poolside along with glow volleyball on the beach are also offered (how cool is that!?!?)
It’s okay to take a break and act like a kid again.
We spent a lot of our time on the balcony by the pool making snowmen and acting silly. It was such a peaceful area surrounded by the beautiful scenery. As you can see below, Danica was having a blast throwing snowballs at daddy, ha!
Live a little.
Thank you so much Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa for hosting us! We had a wonderful time! We can’t wait to return as a family of 4!
