Both of your birthdays were the happiest days of my life.

The kid’s are 2 years and 10.5 months apart, so birthday parties will forever be a big deal around here! This year we decided to throw a combo birthday party. Dani couldn’t decide on a birthday theme and I LOVE the Coachella theme party ideas I have been seeing on Pinterest!

Once I decided on the theme and convinced my husband on the theme (LOL), I decided to call their festival D-CHELLA since both of their names start with a “D“. I cannot wait to show you the party details….keeping reading!

This picture is of the main party area. I used 6 pallet tables to form a long kid’s table. I purchased the majority of the pillows from IKEA and the rest were from our home. The bohemian rugs were a mix of inexpensive ones I had purchased from Ross. I used burlap and lace table cloths that we had used from our wedding, ha! I SAVE everything! I made the kid’s table the main seating area and laid bohemian rugs all around the table to have our guests sit around on! As parents we never have a chance to really sit down and eat, so the idea of sitting on the ground “festival style” actually worked out perfectly! The kiddos crawled/walked around the rugs so it made it possible for everyone to enjoy themselves.

The face painter we used was the best I have ever seen! Her designs and how quickly she went through 18 kids was impressive!

Pizza is our spirit animal!

But first pizza! What is better than pizza as the main dish at a kid’s birthday party? NOTHING! Ha! We love our Domino’s pizza so much! It was a no brainer when I started planning our party that we would have Domino’s pizza. I love ordering from them because their pizza, sides, salads and everything are so good! In addition, they are always so helpful when I can’t make up my mind on what to order. I worked with them closely so that I ordered enough pizza for the 60 guests I was having! They were so helpful in giving me suggestions on ordering different toppings, gluten free options, etc. I would have NEVER thought of ordering gluten free options!

D-Chella wouldn’t be a festival without accessories, am I right? I ordered these beautiful flower head bands from Amazon for the girls and bandannas for the boys! They were such a hit! We got hit with a heat wave, so the Honest Tea| Honest Kids juice pouches were a huge hit! We always have our fridge fully stock with these! So good! Your kids would love them, give them a try!

This “D-Chella” sign is everything, right? I got it printed at a local print shop here in town. A quick tip, I told them I was only going to use it once and to use the most inexpensive paper they had. The cost went down to more than half with just changing the paper type! The quality was perfection regardless, so it didn’t matter that the paper quality was not vinyl!

Happy 1st Birthday Sweet boy!

A kid’s birthday party party wouldn’t be a hit without an inflatable dinosaur, am I right? We named this little cutie, D-rex! He was a huge hit with all the kids and was worth the $11 that I purchased him for on Amazon! I wanted this to party to have all the Coachella vibes gearing towards things kids love! Think balloons, bubbles , face painter, popcorn, cotton candy, etc. I think we made that possible. What do you think?

Enjoying the day with my mini!

We love renting bounce houses for the kid’s birthday parties! They’re inexpensive and provide endless hours of entertainment for the kids! Dylan loved jumping around with Danica. He also loved sliding out and hanging from the net, ha! My little dare devil, eck! Dave, Dani and I also had our time in there as well! We truly believe & encourage that you should be a kid at heart regardless of your age and live a little! Also, since Dylan had his 1 year old friends join us I purchased an inflatable pool and added a gate with balls for them to play in! They had a blast! Definitely recommend because #toddlerlife. Dylan wants to crawl everywhere and having a dedicated spot for small children to roam makes life easier for the parents to enjoy the party!

Balloon Garland Kits are a must!

This beautiful balloon kit made such a beautiful statement. It was 80+ degrees outdoors, so I decided to keep this garland indoors and highlight the important things like our pizza! I received a ton of compliments on how beautiful it was. The kit was from Junibel Ballon Garland Kits . She has a wide variety of colors on her site. I went ahead and ordered two kits and combined them so that they would go with our color scheme. I highly recommend purchasing the electric balloon pump. She also has videos on tips on how to quickly put these kits together. She is amazing and helped me pick the colors that best matched our party! I put together this kit in a little over an hour. Once again, watch the videos FIRST! I will be using Junibel going forward for all for all my parties!

Danica is all about Frozen right now, so I let her pick that theme for her ice-cream cake. Baskin-Robbins came through with such a beautiful cake! Danica picked her favorite, strawberries, as the ice cream flavor with white cake. The cake and ice cream were absolutely incredibly delicious. We received so many compliments on how beautiful & delicious the cake was! It paired nicely with the hot weather as well.

Life is like an ice cream, enjoy it before it melts.

In addition, to the beautiful ice-cream cake we picked up a few Polar Pizzas from Baskin-Robbins . The great thing about the cakes and Polar Pizzas is that you can customize the ice cream flavor, crust and toppings! This is crucial especially with how picky kids can be! We are so happy we trusted Baskin-Robbins with the ice-cream treats!
